rudra34
He's in group two in case I end up going first in a game. When the game begins a group with 8 regular, 2 irregular and 3 impetuous will look like a better target for order-sapping than the other 8 order group. That way if there is a good spot for Van Zant to drop in on turn one, he can have a full 8 orders to work with. I'd move something else but the dozer is stuck with the muls, and I'd rather have the link team mobile than tie them down to the squishy LT.Edit: But I like the way you think!

rudra34
Made one change in the night and moved the LT into the link, for biotech it just didn't make sense to have them as a loner. I made a lot of mistakes in the game, and got punished badly for them. By the middle of turn one pete had me down to the muls, dozer, a single grunt, and an off-the-board van zant. I called it there to cut my losses, figured that another turn wouldn't save me and Pete still had a few orders to kill off my remaining force. The list is not my first choice for biotech, but it was still a chance to learn how some of it functions. As Pete pointed out, the list is pretty SWC starved as I spend 2 just on the LT and the harris, so maybe some changes need to be put in to open up some more heavy weapon options.
rudra34
Switched the list around last night to give it a bit more punch. rudra34
Found my silhouette 2! All is right in the world!!!Also starting to get some painting done on the Ariadna boys and girls. I have one of the traktor muls at about 50%, and just put down a dark flesh wash on 2 of the dogs. They have great detail on the models, so I'm gonna try to go pretty minimal with the paint and let the model shine through. After the wash they will be getting a few colors of dry-brush, then the fur will get darker coats and highlights. The packs on them will be the last part, as they will be easiest to do last and are fairly out of the way of the rest of the model. Since these will be my first finished models for the army, I've got to decide on bases. Kyndra has a bunch of leftover leaves and mossy grass from her wood elf army, so I'll probably go foresty with a touch of autumn leaves for color.

(0 | 10) 4 SWC | 198 Points Open in Infinity Army USA went up first against Eric's Hassassin Bahram. Just for a quick recap:-Van Zant takes out a team of Muyibs -Linked Grunt HMG fails to take down Eric's ARO ghulams, eats many wounds to the face-Van Zant fails to prevent getting shot, goes down to shock ammo -Grunts move up under cover of smoke, Mavrick wrecks face, provides lots of tactical help -Ghulams leave defensive position and move forward, Farzan moves into solid position at midfield -I make many armor saves -Foxtrot and maverick play some smoke games, mine goes down near Farzan -Minuteman jumps up and takes out many Ghulams -We both jockey for position, I narrowly pull it off with the most points spread throughout the boardNext game was Vanilla against Pete's Aleph. -Both grunts fail infiltration, spend the game as fancy backline cheerleaders-Vet Kazak begins his shuffle up the board, knocks off a few orders and retreats but can't get to cover or suppressive -Pete lays down some fire on my vet, who tries to tank it but ends up a fiery pile on the ground -In the next turn the spetsnatz takes over where the vet left off, finishes off a pair of bots then ends in suppressive, misses two unopposed shots against a devabot-Pete heals a few bots (main theme of this game!), drops fire onto my spets who fails to dodge or make armor -Scylla goes into cybermask and moves forward to claim some ground-I bust out the antipode pack and go after Pete's LT! -After several orders 2 of them make it into btb and start swinging. Pete survives the first and second rounds, but I make my armor saves -The final antipode finally brings down the LT, then promptly dies from nanopulser fire. It was likely a waste of orders, but I needed to test the unit and see what they could do! -Pete is in LoL with 3 command tokens to transfer into orders, he moves into position and is able to take the middle zone from me giving him the winBoth of these games were great, and Ariadna is a blast to play! The low tech feel is there and gives you a new set of hurdles to overcome compared to Pano, the polar opposite of Ariadna. I look forward to more fames with Vanilla and USA, and I can't decide which one I enjoy more.
rudra34
Finally found what I was looking for in a rules question that came up in my game with Pete last Sunday. Template Weapons on a Close CombatTemplate Weapons that affect at least one trooper engaged in a Close Combat affect all troopers in that Close Combat, even if some of them are not in direct contact with the Template. Bear in mind that troopers cannot declare Attacks against their friendly troopers.I've played it wrong in pretty much all my games, allowing the template to just affect with models are hit. In this case it was fine, since I made a miraculous amount of armor saves lol.

rudra34
Played 20x20 match with Ian last night using the same 200 point vanilla list from above, he was playing neoterra with a fusi link, Aquila HMG, and Swiss Guard hacker.I deployed first and went first, managing to succeed on both of my grunt infiltration rolls. One grunt headed toward the link team and managed to bring down one of the members, as well as make every armor save from 4 fusilier shots and 1 aquila shot. The HMG fell back which made room for my vet kazak to move up and threaten the aquila. The vet got one shot through and put the aquila straight into unconscious, which was a-okay with me. In his turn Ian killed off one of my grunts, but I took down his fusi HMG in the process. He also put a wound on the vet and I went into NWI. Second turn I moved the antipodes up the left side of the board and with some cover from smoke got them up onto one of the high ground spots needed for the scenario. A chasseur claimed another, the marauder got one, and I climbed my vet up onto the fourth. Ian came at me with what was left of his link (after killing off his aquila and HMG with failed paramedic rolls), and managed to take down the vet with his final order. In my last turn I ran the antipodes and spetsnaz down his throat, killing the remaining fusiliers and taking back the high ground where the vet was (but sacrificing the one they held before). Ian was not in retreat, but was down to one order on his Swiss which he could not use to any effect. Everything went smoothly for me in this match, and having two grunts right up front to threaten in a low-point game is brutal. Looking forward to more 20x20, it's good to change things up from ITS!
rudra34
Today I'm working on getting more models primed and ready for painting. So far I have most of the models primed in black with a few sprayed white from above. After a couple test models I'll decide if the white primer is worth it or not. In the interest of saving time I'm hoping that it doesn't actually help with the painting process, but I'm willing to give it a shot. At the very least I'll have 5 camo markers done by the end of the day and a little work started on some test models. For now I'm working on getting the models painted up for this list just so I have a goal to work towards. In my turn I moved up the center with my impetuous boys and stood there, then my spitz went to town and picked off the missed and a few other models. One of my foxtrots ran up the left flank in an attempt to place a beacon only to die within one order of reaching the area. In turn two Sgt.'s bad streak of luck continued as he was in LoL.
