Raindog
I was looking at The Grid Scenario since it is apart of @thediceabide's October Exploder ITS and have a question. A specialist can Designate an Antenna by passing a WIP roll while in base to base contact. But then, then the rules say the Designate Antenna skill can be replaced by the Forward Observation skill. Does this mean a Forward Observer can Forward Observe the Antenna to Designate it? The wording is not clear to me. Ideas?
rudra34
My understanding is that successfully using the forward observe skill will designate the antenna.
Exile
That was my reading as well. I find this scenario extremely interesting. Need to try a few things.
thediceabide
Sorry, I just saw this! The Grid has a few rules that are kind of interesting. First of all, yes, you can Forward Observe to designate the antenna, but Spotlight, Sat Lock, etc, do not work, it must be the Forward Observe skill. Additionally, you cannot target, designate, or interact with the antenna in any way until turn 2, as it does not begin to apply the Scenery Structure rules until then. Another thing to remember is that as a Scenery Structure, it has a Damaged state when reduced to 0 STR, so you will actually need to inflict a third STR worth of damage before it will be destroyed. For the sake of argument, you can use the D-Charges in either CC Mode or by planting them, there seems to be some inconsistency in the rules about this, but I'm going to go by this ruling until FAQ'd otherwise.
rudra34
They really need to get their translation team to clean up the language in this scenario, not to mention the other million and a half mistakes in the current ITS rule pack.
