  1. Endeavor: Season One John Thaw played the elder Morse perfectly. The new young Morse series is delightful. I cannot recommend it enough. It is smart and thoughtful. Watch on Amazon Prime.
  2. I love the you want to try something whacky with no clue, sure, roll at disadvantage . When they succeed, it is win! If not, they knew the chances, but went for it and appreciate being allowed.
  3. Okay, I have the second full game in. Two of the players were a bit distracted and unorganized in their play, leaving pauses in play. I pulled out Fairie Fire for the first time and it really aided the sole combat. I really like the advantage concept in 5e, it allows for a better consistency in roll results. As to the mechanic, we have discovered the operating mechanic of the game, forgotten teleportation circles that access other teleportation circles set on linear ley lines like a compass. Now, we need a plot push to direct us to our next mission and over all purpose.
  4. Thunderball: I know this is some people's favorite James Bond film, but the movie has problems. The opening fight scene against the French Assassin who faked his death is odd. It is not funny or ironic, it is just awkward. The Tom Jones theme song is awful and mockable. The initial intrigue at the spa is not paced right and forcing kissing on the woman and blackmailing her for sex isn't cool. Winning her over with his sexual prowess seems a dated fantasy from the sixtes and seventies. Later 2/3 of the movie is so much better and saves the movie. You have the man-eating pet sharks, the scuba fights, and great scenes with classic characters. Overall, the movie is watchable, but is no Dr. No or from Russia With Love.
